Because of the Korean War, there was no Show Schedule for 1951. The Team had been reassigned to the Fleet as the nucleus of VF 191, "Satan's Kittens".
LTCDR John Magda, who had been "Boss" of the 1950 Blue Angels team, was the Skipper of VF 191. Tragically, he was killed in action over Korea.
The Team would be reformed in October of 1951 but there would be no shows until mid-season 1952. Ironically, the Team was reformed by its original "Boss", CDR Roy M. "Butch" Voris
